RV park or Boondocking CLOSE to Yuma?

Hi all,

Any good and reasonably priced parks really close to or in Yuma? Wife will be working at the hospital so needs to be fairly close. Jan 2 to mid April. Would really like to have hookups or very close dump and water stations.

We are not 55 yet and have a nice looking 98 class a (not a coach of many colors in other words)

Will be in quartzsite tonight probably.

Thanks

Have you looked at Allstays app? They have treated us good.
Happy Glamping.

RV park or Boondocking CLOSE to Yuma?

I just looked on Allstays. This one is close to the regional medical center, but is not rated all that well.

DESERT HOLIDAY RV RESORT
3601 S. 4th Ave.
Yuma, Az., 85365
928 344-4680 office
928 344-4013 fax

There are two others very close to the hospital but they are 55+. You might just give them a call and explain your situation. These both have better ratings.

Capris RV Resort. 928.726.0959

Mesa Verde RV Park. 928.726.5814

It might be tough, because that time frame is high season for snow birds.

Best of luck

Thanks for the info. I have allstays but was hoping someone either already here or has stayed here would have personal recommendations. Allstays and apps like it are helpful but sometimes wrong too

Just had breakfast with a couple who stay at Desert Holiday & love it. Haven't been there so can't give my opinion but there are some reasonable price parks who might not hold you to the over 55 if you don't have children.

You could possibly boondock at Fortuna Pond while you check out the parks near the hospital.

If you want to boondock for a couple of days while looking for an RV park that suits your needs, or if you want to boondock the while time you are here, I would recommend the BLM on the north side of the VFW on 95 a few miles north of the west side of Yuma at 7120 US-95, Yuma, AZ 85365. There is a dump station and water available at Shell on the NE corner of I-8 and Fortuna RD.

https://www.google.com/maps/@32.6978...14.4684638,13z

The BLM is 14 days free.

Another boondocking possibility is the Cocopah Casino on the south side of Yuma.

https://www.google.com/maps/place/Co...4d-114.6516741

I believe it is $10.00 for three nights, and you can stay as many nights as you wish. The parking is on asphalt with nice big space with 24 hour security.

When we have stayed there we dump and fill at the Giant.

https://www.sanidumps.com/locationmap2.php?id=2322

I do see now that the water there is listed as rinse water only. We havent been there for about three years, but we used to fill up our fresh water tank with the water.

Good luck

A group of us always boondocked at Mittrey Lake - not a long drive to Yuma. It would be a nice spot while you're looking for a RV park. There are also some YouTubes on it.

Check the ads in the Yuma Edition of www.whitesheetonline.com it always has lots of park & individual ads for RV space. Also check Craigslist. Usually lots of private owned spaces available in the Foothills about 20-30 minutes from hospital & beautiful views.

Also you might want to drive around the Foothills and look for lots with RV hookups for rent. We have done that a couple of times as we have a Rottweiler and can't get into many parks. Last year we got a fenced and gated lot in a nice part of that area cheap.

We went to a dentist in Algodonos MX today and saw quite a few boondockers right at the west turnoff from I8 to the Quechan casino.
