There are quite a few parks, both private and State in the area. I would go first to http://www.woodalls.com to find them and then to http://www.rvparkreviews.cmo to see any comments on them

<span class="ev_code_RED">I too will be traveling to the GS/Pensacola area as well. I would like to hear from someone though that has actually stayed in the area and can suggest a nice campground/StatePark. I'd rather get "Been there...", "Went too..." type comments then read Woodalls. Thanks. </span>

In the past year we have stayed at the Luxury RV Resort (www.redelephants.com/LuxuryRV.html)and Island Retreat RV Resort (www.islandretreatrv.com) in Gulf Shores. Both are nice with pools and facilities. Luxury RV is close to beach and is mainly back in sites. Island Retreat has many long pull thru sites and has WiFi which is important to me. Last I heard State Park was closed from hurricane damage.

Given all the terrible storms of the past 2 years I thought I'd check out info again. We are visiting a friend in Pensacola, Florida, zip code 32534 and one in Orange Beach during Thanksgiving week 2006. Does anyone have current experience with RV parks in these areas? Last time we were in Gulf Shores was 2004 and most campgounds were closed or in tough shape.

We were just there again last month for a couple of weeks and stayed at the Island Retreat RV Resort. There was no sign of any damage there. We couldn't see any signs of damage at the other campgrounds in the area. Even the State park campground was back up and running.
