Can anyone recommend a good RV park in Vancouver, BC? We will be there July 16 thru July 20. Our MH is 39' and we have a toad.

I can report we stayed here at Capilano RV Park in North Vancouver while on a Winnebago Caravan in August 2007.

As they state, it certainly is the closest to the city.

People with 40 footers had no real problem with parking space. This is not a rural CG, but rather one in an urban setting. We liked it.

I feel that I need to ask, not to be nosy, but to better direct your search.......what will you be doing there?

I also recommend posting this down to the Canada forum, there are a few members that live in the lower mainland.

The only plans we have so far are a visit to Victoria and Butchart Gardens. We are open to suggestions for other things to see and do. We will have our 13 year old grandson with us also.

We will be in Calgary for the Stampede and a stop in Vancouver is planned on our way home.

posted a note in the Canada forum one.

hopefully some of the Vancouver locals will chime in as well.

A big part will be hobbies and interests. Adults would enjoy Granville Island, the grandson might like the aquarium.

Well then, ....... may I suggest:

On TC1 just west of Lake Louise in the area of Kicking Horse Pass make a brief stop at The Spiral Tunnels, a railroad engineering wonder.

West of Kamloops rather than taking Route 5, the Coquihalla Hwy, stay on TC1 and travel down the beautiful Frazer Valley. A stop at the ****'s Gate Airtram. Would advise getting there early, before the place opens, and parking will be a lot easier.
(Oops! That automatic word censor bleeped out the 'H' word)

In the N.Vancouver area:

Take a tram ride up to Grouse Mountain

Stop and experience the Capilano Suspension Bridge

wthomas1, with your thought of visiting Victoria and Buchart Gardens, you're looking at some serious ferry fares to and from Victoria out of Vancouver. Of course, this can be reduced by leaving the MH in Vancouver and taking the toad to Victoria, which you have probably already thought of. Another thought is the ferry from Port Angles, WA to Victoria and the another ferry to Vancouver, both expensive, but worth it!

We will definitely not be taking the RV on the ferry!

ohh, come now, where is your sense of frivolous spending? don't blame you. cheaper to get 2 nights at the Holiday Inn than take the ferry across.

as the trip is 2 hours + wait time each way. i recommend paying the extra 17.50(if I remember correctly) to reserve your sailing. Otherwise more than likely you get to watch a ferry or two depart without you on it before your turn comes up. traffic is a nightmare.

I think that you will enjoy the ParkCanada link that I mentioned before. Its right where the causeway from the ferry terminal reaches the mainland.

Have fun, wish I was going back - but I have to wait for christmas holidays.

There is also a U.S. ferry that leaves Anacortes, WA to Victoria. Fidalgo Bay resort is a good base for this but a stop in Vancover is definately a good idea as there is sooooo much to see and do.
