RV parks along I-20, AL, MS, LA

We are planning to head to Texas and further SW right after Christmas. Our likely route (after a week or so at Myrtle Beach) will be along I-20 thru GA, AL, MS, and LA into San Antonio. Will there likely be many RV parks open along that route during that time of year?

We like to stay at the Ameristar Casino Rv Park in Vicksburg, MS -

Ameristar Casinos Inc. | Official Website

Lakeside Marina RV Park - Pell City, AL

https://www.facebook.com/Lakeside-La...7991585551355/

Most people would head south out of Atlanta towards Mobile, AL and use I-10 to get to San Antonio.

We may use the I-10 route, especially if we decide to stop in Pensacola to visit the Naval Aviation museum.

RV parks along I-20, AL, MS, LA

We R leaving south Florida mid December to travel back to Texas to spend Christmas with family. We've done this route a number of times and not crazy about the RV park selection along I20. We will most likely pick up I10 in Tallahassee and I think that's where the best bet is for decent places to stay.

Coming across I-10.... in LA.... Fountainbleau State Park in Mandeville is a real treasure.... Cajun Palms RV Park just east of Lafayette, LA is great..... both are in wonderful areas for th Cajun lifestyle

In San Antonio ... we have 2 favorites..... Alamo RV Park ..KAO on Gemmler Rd is extremely nice and easy to get around the city
Greenlake RV Resort is a new park that is a bit out of the traffic areas, but convenient to getting around the city.

BTW.... don't miss the San Antonio Missions ....

Good luck! RV parks aren't easy to find in Louisiana. Cajun Palms is in Henderson, LA. Just north of I-10. Tallahassee RV park is nice. These are the only two we use when coming across I-10 in those areas. Alabama has some in the beach areas but you have to drop south from I-10 and we don't want to go that far. We stayed in Ocean Springs, MS in the National Seashore Davis Bayou and that was nice for an overnight stay.

If you do go I-20, here are some suggestions:
CWGS (Camping World-Good Sam) RV Park in Anniston, Alabama.
Ameristar in Vicksburg
Palisade RV Park in West Monroe, Louisiana
Miss Ellie's RV Park in Waskom, Texas

Other than Ameristar, most of these are just OK overnight stopping places. Some I've stayed at multiple times. I would stay at any of them again.

If you stay on the northern route, you may want to stop in Athens, TX at Texan RV Park, on US 175 just west of Athens. Great people!

Pensacola Beach RV park is very nice. Right on the water with good eats nearby.

Get the RVPARKY app for your phone or iPad and it will give you most of the campgrounds along your route. You can also get the app information for your computer. It has been one of the best we have used so far.
