I'm planning on attending a reunion of the ship I served on in Baton Rouge next month and would like to drive the RV and tour on the way back. My old shipmate from MN is going to be driving their brand new RV on their first trip and meeting at our home in KY and then following us down there. We would like to stay at an RV park nearest the Embassy Suite in downtown so we can have the option of driving in and then returning "home" at night.

Any recommendations are appreciated!

Thanks!

When our son was working in Baton Rouge, we stayed several times at the Baton Rouge KOA. It is just to the east of the city and very nice. It has been a couple of years since we were there though.

In 2008 we stayed at Lakeside RV Park in Livingston, LA. It is a very nice place - concrete pads and roads. The ride to Baton Rouge was around 15 minutes.

Among the places we visited was the USS Kidd. Excellently preserved! Plus, they had some very knowledgeable folks aboard to explain things.

Lakeside RV Park is very nice. When you turn off the road you are on concrete all the way. 3/4 of a mile from the freeway and an easy drive to Baton Rouge. It is by far the best park in the area and 1 of the best in Louisiana.

Another vote for Lakeside RV Park. It's at exit 22 on I-12. Go south about a mile, it's on the left. It's a regular stop over for us on our Texas trips to see the kids.
