I have a brother who will be having open heart surgery on March 22, in Charolette, NC. We are looking for a respectable RV park in that area. Prefer that it would be close to town. Your help would be appreciated.

This might be your best bet & closest option: Tom Johnson Camping Racing Resort - Concord, NC - RV Park Reviews.

We've stayed their twice for short periods of time. All gravel, but clean & convenient to town.

The CG posted by McGarrett50 is the only place I stay when in the area. It is at the NASCAR race complex. It is a gravel CG, but it is all gravel. Not a blade of grass or dirt anywhere. Plenty of places to eat nearby.

Go to http://www.charlottemotorspeedway.com/contact/ for contact information. I think it is $35/night when there are no events. Tom Johnson sold out to CW. Not sure who is running the CG.

There aren't any campgrounds close to downtown, but Tom Johnson isn't too far away. However, it could be zooy if there is a race scheduled while you're there. There is no major NASCAR race there in March, but the speedway also has a dirt track and a drag strip. You should be OK that early in the season, but check the track schedule just to be sure before booking the campground.

We usually stay at Carowinds when we're in that area. It's just over the border in SC.

There is also a KOA just over the border in Fort Mill, SC that is open all year. Don't know much about it.
