I'll be spending the summer in the Kansas City, MO/KS area. Can anyone recommend a park suitable for a long term stay in the area?

I've lived just north of Kansas City all my life, and won't be able to help you much. We just bought a 5er, so haven't been out & about that much. However there are 2 that come to mind. One is Miller's Campark in Liberty, Mo. Here is a link to RV Park Reviews. I really don't know too much about them. RV Park Reviews :: Liberty, Missouri ( MO ) - RV Parks and Campground Reviews
Also there is a mobil home park, that I've had to go to a few times, also in Liberty that I've noticed having a few RV's parked in. I think it's called Doc's Trailer Park. Hope this helps!

RJay,
I'm very sorry to report that I lived in KC for 23 years and there are not any really good parks in the entire KC area. If you can tell me which area of town you prefer......I might get you to the best in that area. Again, sorry to be the bearer of bad news. rockin'

Hi Rockin,
Thanks for the post. I'm afraid you confirmed my suspicions. My search for an rv park in the KC area didn't turn up much so I thought I would post here to see if I missed something. I want to experience Missouri and my choice was between KC and St. Louis. I have found a couple of parks in the St. Louis area that look promising so I guess St. Louis here I come. That's the good thing about fulltiming, a change of plans amounts to programming a different address into the GPS.

If you are going to St. Louis, a word of adivse...STAY OUT OF EAST ST. LOUIS! I'm retired law enforcement, and even the coppers in East St. Louis are nervious! Crime rate there is out of the roof. When they respond to a call, they have 1 unit just to watch the patrol cars! Especially not a place to be after dark!

Not knowing the St. Louis area can you give me the boundries that define East St. Louis? For example, Say from Sherman Park east to the River? I didn't realize the crime situation was so bad in St. Louis. Thanks for the heads up!!

He's talking about the city of East St. Louis. Across the Mississippi in Illinois. Just stay on the West side of the river and in St. Louis, Missouri. At least for a place to stay, that is. Very nice little KOA in Eureka, Missouri that I know has long term sites. About 30 miles west of St. Louis right off I-44. Easy access to almost anywhere you might want to visit.

MoRV, thanks for the clarification, that makes it easy. I like to stay west of the Mississippi anyway so there should be no problems and I'll take a look at the KOA.
