Golden hill state park

Golden hill SP is a nice quiet and smaller scale sized park. It's about 40 min drive or so if you don't mind the drive. Stunning sunsets and you can see Toronto across the water on clear days.

Stayed at the KOA on Canada side. Bus stops right at the CG for rides downtown and the falls.

If you just want a FHU site close to the Falls, check out Cinderella Motel and campsites, a Passport America CG @ $30/night located at 2797 Grand Island Blvd
Grand Island NY, 14072

We stayed at the Grand Island KOA. It was a nice place, I agree. However, make sure your site is in the front section where the office is located or in the front part of the next section. Our site was on the farthest row next to the highway. Had we been any closer, we would've been on the highway. It was so incredibly loud all day and night. I would not stay again in the same location of the park.

Four Mile is also a couple of miles from Ft. Niagara. Reenactments all day - we found more interesting than the falls.

Thanks for all the suggestions, I think we will stay at Four Mile SP, if we go. We are closing on our new beach house the 30th of June. We need to go to PA for a wedding in July & was planning on going to Niagara Falls before the wedding. We may just head to the beach & get things organized there instead. Then fly up for the weekend to attend the wedding.

If it's not too late, check out Branches of Niagara in Grand Island. We were there last year and I have to tell you it's one of the nicest places in that area. We drove through both the koa's in NY and Canada, they are dumps. They look like trailer parks. You won't be disappointed!

Try Niagara Hartland Resort in Gasport NY. They have good level 50 amp sites that will handle your coach, they also are a Passport America member

We stayed at Lewiston KOA. A few years ago, not bad for camping. Would highly recommend spending an evening in Lewiston itself. Nice place, looks just like something out of a Norman Rockwell painting. And we found a several good restaurants .

Also recommend 4-mile SP--pretty close to the falls and you park free on the American side of the falls if you are camping in the park.....
