RV Parks North or East of Atlanta

Posted this in another forum and didn't get a lot of response. I've done a lot of searches -- RVParkReviews.com, Good Sam, etc.

I'm looking for a place for an overnighter near Atlanta. Traveling east on I20, then northeast on I85. Prefer to get past Atlanta before stopping, but just want a place to stay, with hookups. Don't care whether it has pool and playground, but want a safe area. All recommendations welcome.

How about Norcross Ga. It looks to be exactly where you want to be. Here's some info on a place.

Thanks Cliff, I appreciate the quick response. I've read both good and bad reviews of Jones RV Park in Norcross. A poster on the other forum, who lives nearby, advised me to avoid that park -- not a good area, he says. I'm still considering it because, as you said, it's exactly where I want to be. Surely for one night, it would be OK -- unless bad guys with guns hang around there. I don't really have anything that anyone would want to steal -- I'm just an old retired GI traveling to visit my grandkids!

A phone call to the local police might answer some of these questions.
Let us know if you do.

Jones RV park is nothing to write home about. I've stayed there many times. I will stay there again when I need an overnight place to stay. The advantages are:
1. easy on and off
2. easy to get propane
3. relatively cheap
4. long pull through sites

Thanks, MrJim. That's a great-looking place, but way too far out of my way.

Next time I'm going up I75, I think I'll stop in there.

Thanks, Gary. I think I'll stop there. If you folks don't ever hear from me again, you can assume that Jones RV Park was not the place to stay!

Cartersville is WAYYYY to far up 75 from 20 then 85. I have a home 1 exit south of Indian trail(jones park)at jimmy carter. Not a bad area at all. Though I haven't stayed at the park, I can assure you that for an over niter, you will be just fine. Plus Gwinnett police have a big precinct at my exit and they are always up and down Indian trail. IIRC,I did check their prices once and they seemed to be a little pricier than I wanted to pay. I'm sure you could do better further north if you had to.
