Can anybody suggest a RV park in the Sacramento area that we could spend a month or 2 this winter?

Sac West RV park in West Sacramento is a decent park and close to town.

Sacramento can get cold in winter. Why not go farther south?

Sac West is nice but pricy. I think it used to be a KOA at one time. Cal Expo is cheaper but no amenities but it is full hook up.

Cal Expo is close to a lot of restaurants and a major shopping center. It can get chilly in Sacramento, but only a few days a year that the temperature drops below freezing at night.

We want to be within a days drive of my wife's ailing parents in Eureka but don't want to spend the winter in the rain.

Wow that's about 300 miles. Think I'd suck it up and buy a couple umbrella's LOL

We stay in Sacramento several times a year at the Elks lodge in Carmichael. The only other campgrounds I'm aware of are the two that were mentioned where we stayed years ago.

Cal Expo has a bunch of very unlevel spots or used to years ago. Sac West is nicer and closer to where you want to go as it's right on I 80.

there is a nice campground in fortuna just south of eureka, riverwalk rv campground. you know sacramento isn't all that close to eureka. i 5 to redding then 299 a nice long winding road to eureka. try not to take the 36 from red bluff, you'll thank me...

If retired military, you could check out Beale Air Force Base campground:
http://www.bealefss.com/famcamp/

In Vacaville, there are two campgrounds, (Next to each other) situated about 2 miles off of I-80, and maybe 1/4 mile off of I-5:

The Vineyard RV Park

Midway RV Park

Aurora RV Park in Nice, CA. Off HWY 30 easy drive to 101 for Eureka. Nice folks but I wouldn't leave anything valuable outside at night. We stay there a lot and haven't lost anything.

I thought of another RV park that could be a great location for your drive to Eureka.

The KOA in Petaluma. It's supposed to be a really nice park, and it would be a perfect location to hop on Highway 101 to Eureka.
