Sacramento CA to Spokane WA advice wanted

Hello everyone!

We need to take a last minute trip to Creston, BC and don't really know much about the drive? We frequently drive from the Sacramento , CA area to Vancouver Canada so it's I5 all the way and were really familiar with that drive and what's out there and what there is to do.

But all we have now is the Google maps and 3 different routes to choose from. We don't want to be the family on the evening news that goes missing and every one says "what were they thinking going THAT way!"

Not much time to plan, we have 2 kids (14 and 10), so, water park stops, malls, etc? Nice park recommendations?

That's about it! Thanks all for your advice and time? I will definitely follow up with what we ended up doing when we get back!

US95 is a good route into Canada out of Couer d'Alene ID, just to the east of Spokane. There is a theme park just to the north of Couer d'Alene that kids would enjoy. Beautiful scenery all the way. We were truckers and we HAD to cross at that border crossing. Coming from Sacramento, veer off at Weed CA and take US97 to Klamath Falls OR and it will eventually spit you out at the Columbia River. Continue across the river to the Washington side (WA 14) and take that east until you hit I82 and take that up to the Tri-Cities. Make sure you have enough fuel as there are no towns from Biggs to the Tri-Cities (there are 2 truck stops at Biggs). Get off at Kennewick on US 395 and take that all the way to I90 and you will be on your way to Spokane. I use to live near Spokane plus all the trucking I am very familiar with pretty much any western route. Have fun!

That is great information!! I am downloading copilot on my tablet right now to try to plan that route and then it will hopefully show me what else there is on the way.

Thanks!
Tracey
