Any suggestions for a campground in the Salt Lake City area? Would like to be able to get to the downtown area without a huge hassle. Thanks!

When we were in Salt Lake City in 2009, we stayed at the KOA. I don't normally stay at a KOA's as they are usually way over priced for our needs and this one is not cheap either. Nice place to stay, convenient, and not far from Mormon Square.

Last summer I did an overnight at the Park City RV Resort ( Park City RV Resort | Utah). Although I wasn't there long, I enjoyed the stay and would definitely stay there again. Current rates are $35-$45/night but the don't have weekly or monthly rates during the summer.
I'm guessing it's about 30-40 minutes to Salt Lake but I'm not familiar with the area so take that with a grain of salt!

Definitely the KOA which is right at the city center. If you want to tour that area this is the place to stay!

We stayed at the KOA, which is a fine park that is well shaded and close to the sights in SLC. Pony Express RV Park is a new park that's about 10 minutes north of the KOA. We checked it out and opted to go with the shade.
We won't stay at Park City RV Resort because of a horrible experience we had with the "manager" of its sister facility in Moab.
Hope this helps.

We stay a bit farther out - Mountain Shadows RV Park, which is close to Camping World. Lots of shade, a pool and nice grass at each site.

We stayed at the KOA because of the location right down town. We enjoyed the campground and the city.

You might also check out Pony Express RV Resort - Home in North Salt Lake. It's a nice gated park with easy freeway access.

Check out Cherry Hill Campground, its in Kaysville about 15 minutes north. Awesome place if you have kids. They have a water park and mini golf onsite.
