Salt Lake City RV park

We will be in Salt Lake City about the 3rd week in June. I will be doing some genealogy research at the Mormon Family History Library. Will probably be there for 3 to 4 days maybe longer. Can anyone recommend an RV park convenient to the Family History Library which I believe is close to the Mormon Temple?

Thanks.

Ginny:

Ride the newly opened, Utah Transit Authority, light rail, Green Line train to Temple Square and Geneology Library. You can board right across from RV Park. Telephone KOA at 801-328-0224. For train info: Utah Transit Authority

We were just at the SLC KOA, last week...1400 West North Temple - I know, what a crazy address...
...A better address to map-it is 110 Garside St. (side street at the office corner.)

http://m.koa.com/campgrounds/salt-lake-city/

It is a sprawling RV Park and is very popular being inside the city, very near Temple Square, and near the intersection of I-15 and I-80, so reservations are a good idea. And the trolly stops right in front of the park.

Inside the park, they are re-paving the roadways at this time, there are lot of shade trees, and all the facilities you could want. Plus, there is a riverwalk adjacent to the rear of the park if you like to walk or bike...yes this is in the city!

Best of luck

We've stayed at the SLC KOA several times. I got thrown off their WiFi system the last time.
I had just bought a new TomTom GPS and downloaded the newest updated map series. It took too much bandwidth so they blocked me. Called the office and the put me back on.

Wow! Downloading map updates is not something you should be doing on a park Wifi system!

We spent 8 weeks at Pony Express and really liked it. Very clean and big spaces with nice grass areas and picnic tables for each space. It's a little further distance from the KOA but we really liked it. Easy access for larger rigs too, the KOA is a little tight for us.

We have stayed at Pony Express 5 times. The park is very nice. The scenery is horrible. The smells are horrible. Highway noise is horrible. We will try the KOA next time we pass through town.

The KOA is very nice and it has lovely walks at the Jordan River, you go thru a gate at the back of the park to access the trails. Also, there is a shuttle that will bring you to Temple Square any time you want to go. At least there was one when we were there last year. It did not cost a penny. Just had to get the office to give them a call. Enjoy.
