Heading here next week. We have read the reviews on the koa and admiralty rv resort and both seem sketchy. Anyone been there lately or have another idea.

I've been to the KOA. I would stay there again. It is an easy in and out. The bus line comes to the front of the CG. The CG is typical KOA amenities. After rush hour, it is an easy drive into town.

We liked the "premium" side of Braunig Lake RV Resort. It is about 6 miles due South of the Alamo. The standard sites are pretty close together, but they will alternate RV's between the sites until they start getting full. When we stayed there they were a Passport America park.
Plug in the Alamo into the GPS when you go into town, and directly behind it is a parking lot for $10 a day. We parked our F350 King Ranch there several times when we visited the Alamo and the River Walk.

We stayed there last fall right after the big storm. Part of the park was still muddy. Nice park . Handy to most of town after rush hour. We would stay there again.

We just stayed at Admiralty in April. It was OK, but the sites are a little narrow. Mostly pull-throughs with some back-ins around the perimeter. They have full hookups with cable and Wi-Fi for around $30 a night with Good Sam discount. Roads and pads are paved.

Ya might consider Alamo Fiesta RV in Boerne, just NW on I-10. GREAT access not only to San Antonio, but, better yet, to all the Texas Hill Country has to offer...and THAT'S alot!! Cowboy Bar in Bandera. German restaurants in Fredricksburg and New Braunsfel, visit Groene (oldest dancehall), and...of course a visit to Lukenbach for some music!! It's a great location.

We stayed at Braunig Lake RV Resort last Fall and it was fine. Altho I know nothing of the above recommended place, we sure enjoyed the other areas they discussed. I would probably try them next time. San Antonio and area are a neat place to visit. The tough thing will be to choose an eating establishment in Riverwalk.

Blazing Star on the 1604 loop, west side of town a few blocks from Sea World, is our park of choice when visiting the boys in San Antonio. Check their website at: Blazing Star Luxury Rv Resort - The ultimate in luxury camping.
