Blazing Star is our choice when we're in San Antonio.

Check out Kerrville-Schreiner Municipal Park http://www.tpwd.state.tx.us/spdest/f...lle_schreiner/ in Kerrville. It used to be a state park, but it is now operated by the city. We stayed there 2 years ago and it was very nice. They have 2 areas - one along the Guadalupe River where the office is located, and one across the road. The locals seem to like the area by the river. We stayed in the area across the river where it was fairly quiet and there was lots of wildlife.

We stayed at the Admirality RV Park and it is very nice. Macadam roads and concrete parking pads. IIRC they have a shuttle service to/from Seaworld about a mile away.

There are no "great" RV parks in SA....sorry....I lived there for 28 years. Brauning Lake is probably the best bet for the buck. Blazing Star and Admiralty are decent. I've stayed at each for a month. Both are older but decent. North is Alamo Fiesta RV Resort in Boerne, not fancy but nice folks managing it. No heated pool and no hot tub. Love the area though. There is alway the Spring Branch RV park in Spring Branch.....they don't answer the phone if you call, just stop in and park, but not a bad little park....not close to Walmart or any shopping stuff. Cheap price though. Relaxed rural setting. HTHs Tom

If you are a member of P.A. or C2C, you could stay at the Lake Pointe RV Park off St. Rt. 306 near Canyon Lake. It's very nice and close to New Braunfels, Gruene and many points in the Hill Country.

We live 250 miles from SA and have visited in the MH 3 times in the last 4 months.

Braunig Lake is a full time Passport America CG. Admiralty is GS 10%. For the buck and for a week, Braunig is good for the price. We had a lot of fun with the CG host and others in the park with evening activities. It's a hop-skip-jumpl to down town SA.
Try to get the "deluxe" sites as they do have more space. The regular sites are close together but they try and stagger unit when they are not busy.

Admiralty is as was previously posted. A nice park. Pull throughs are close together. Almost all internal city parks are close cramped.

Rio Raft is at the 4th crossing of the Guadalupe River. Hopefully by the time you travel they will have had some rain. All of Southeast Texas has been dry for a long time. Rio Raft is 50 miles from SA, 50 Miles from Austin, sits just below Canyon Lake, close to San Marcos and Factory Outlet (big), Camping World, and is a good jumping off point for daily treks. The Guadalupe is nice for wading, or rent a tube and go Toobing. Rio Raft is also a full time PA CG.

Happy trails.

We've stayed at the KOA. It is on the bus route. Also convenient for driving around. Their number is 800-KOA-7783. I would stay there again.

We recently stayed at the KOA also on our way to Texas - nice place, bus right to the River Front, quiet and pool is heated.

We just stayed 3 days at Buckhorn Lake Resort in Kerrville and loved it. We wish we had more time there and are looking forward to a chance to go back. Wonderful RV park. Well cared for, large sites, friendly staff, pretty setting, WiFi, cable, 2 pools and more. Daily rate is pretty spendy but their website has a coupon for a free night when you pay for 2 which made it a little more reasonable.

When you are in Kerrville, consider taking the 20 mile drive to Medina to visit the Love Creek Orchard bakery. They make an apple pie that is just amazing. It's four pounds of pure bliss. YUM
