We're planning a trip to the San Diego area later this year (September?) . . .

Wondering which Thousand Trails Preserve is most recommended - Pio Pico or Oakzanita Springs? Or there another one better? We have a small motor home and a toad, no kids or pets, looking to take in the sights (zoo, city, beaches, mountains, maybe Mexico). We're pretty much the "early to bed, early to rise" kind of folks and like a quite campsite.

Thanks for your help!

We've been to both of them, but years ago for Oakzanita. That should be a pretty new preserve since they had much fire damage several years ago and have rebuilt lots of the facility. Pio Pico is south and east of SD and is a nice facility. There are two sides, one side of the road is full hookup while the other is only W/E. Personally, we prefer Pio Pico, but like I said, it has been years since we've been to Oakzanita.
