I tend to like campgrounds that are located in or close to the city. Are there any campgrounds that are located within the city of San Diego CA?

Chula Vista RV Resort is just South of San Diego. A beautiful park in a great location. We drove our Toad into San Diego every day, 10 to 20 minutes drive at the most.

We stayed at the Sunland Circle RV Park in El Cajon when our granddaughter had major surgery at the Rady Childrens Hospital in San Diego. The park has a dog run and is adjacent to several good restaurants. The people behind the desk were more than helpful with maps to help us navigate the freeway system from the park to the hospital. Before the surgery we took all the girls to Sea World. FYI - granddaughter is now fully recovered.

Very nice KOA in Chula Vista, just south of San Diego. Freeway close. Look up KOA San Diego. About 6 miles east is Sweetwater Summitt Park, also freeway close. Look up San Diego County parks. Both are only minuts away from downtown San Diego. Sweetwater Park is some what country and the KOA is city.

We stayed at Chula Vista KOA on a trip this summer. We found it to be a very clean well maintained park sits on the bay and is easy off on to the highway. The staff was very friendly and helpful and we had a great time visiting San Diego and the surrounding area.

We always stay (a couple of times a year) at Campland on the Bay. Close to Downtown, Mission Bay and Pacific Beach. Very clean in a great area.
