San Diego, south of the Golden Gate

Any recommendations there? Would prefer a state/national park, but whatever is decent will work. Thanks.

Anywhere...the plan is to cross the Golden Gate tomorrow afternoon, probably at rush hour if my luck runs normally. Call it a night shortly thereafter, then on to Pismo Beach the next day.

I've stayed at the San Francisco RV Resort in Pacifica - it's a parking lot on the cliffs. Not a bad park, just not a place to stay extended unless need be.

Depending on your route, really like San Simeon State Beach campground. It is a really short drive up to Hearst Castle and that I highly recommend you visit if you get the chance. If you are taking the 101, you will head north instead of south at HWY 1 and HWY 46 - That is a nice drive.

We have also stayed a couple days at Lake Nacimiento - not a bad place to camp, unless the water is gone for some reason. Really depends on what route your planning on taking and how much time you have.

We just got back from Pismo Coast Village RV Resort. Nice place and not as pricey as some of the others around there. Almost next door to Pismo Coast is the Pismo State Beach in Oceano. It is a great park but does not have any hookups.
