Savannah GA

We are thinking of a trip to Savannah the week after Christmas. Anyone have recommendations for a good campground to stay? We usually like State Parks, but are open to any suggestion, as we have never been to Savannah. We will be in a 35 foot class A.

if you like state parks, skidaway is the one to be at while visiting Savannah

We have stayed at Skidaway Island (once) and Fort McAllister State Park (twice), enjoyed both. Save plenty of time for the River walk.

Hilton Head Island has a nice campground and it is not that far from Savannah. We've stayed there several times and have taken day trips (via nice boat ride) to Savannah. Really enjoy the shops and restaurants among the Savannah River.

Stayed a couple of times in Hardeeville RV in Hardeeville, SC. Nice spot, easy to get to Savannah. Give our regards to Moon River Brewing on E Bay St. Nice pub.

We stayed at Red Gate Farm at Savannah in August. Nice open space trailers and RVs parked around an open field. Easy access. Big sites. Site of an early dairy farm, no longer operating. Close to Savannah - a short drive. Friendly people.

Tubby's Tank House in Thunderbolt (Man vs Food) Awesome seafood away from the
strip and worth the trip.

I hope you meant "snag", otherwise you're going to get arrested!

I tried but I couldn't resist.

Made reservations at Skidaway State park. Will get there Sunday after Christmas. Have us scheduled for a Segway tour of historic Savannah Tuesday afternoon! Hope it's not too cold, I'm really looking forward to it!
