Ft. McAllistar State Park south of Savannah is nice. Has some big sites, electric and water only. Great seafood restaurant just before the park. When in Savannah visit the Cotton Exchange for lunch, great salmon club sandwich and the shrimp salad sandwich is also good.

We've stayed at the Savannah South KOA on several occasions but only for one or two nights while en-route to or from FL. It has served our needs. We'll be there again this Friday and Saturday on our way to meet family in Myrtle Beach, SC.
I wouldn't describe it as a "resort" but for a short stay it has sites for just about any size rig. We've been parked next to 45' tags as well as small class B conversions and they didn't seem to have any fit problems.Full hook-ups, water, power, level sites. That's would seem to cover the essentials. They even have a wash bay near the entrance for your toad or RV. Just my 2 cents worth.

We have used Fort McCallister for years, nothing fancy, but a good Georgia State Park.

They have a nice lake there.

LOVE SAVANNAH!

I stayed at Red Gate Farms Campground twice, and if going back that is where I would stay. It is nothing fancy, shell sites, no cable, good power, sewer and water and lots of space. Close to downtown Employees could not have been better.

We stayed at Red Gate last year. In B-1 under the trees. Not too level front to back, but nice and shady. Sewage connection was above ground, but we have a macerator so no problem. 50 amp only electric back there. The staff is great. Nice rec room. Walking and biking trail. Hope they cleaned up the rest rooms/showers since. Trolley will pick you up there to go to Savannah.

Question Savannah

We stay at skidaway may 18th 2013 for three days and the construction on the roads going and coming was terrible. Didnt use the paks amenities but was not interested in them and we will pass this park up until the construction is done. paul

Thanks for all of your input. Still not sure where we will end up.

We stayed in Hilton Head resort which is about 35 miles away. Very nice place and not too far to visit Savannah. Lots to do in Hilton head also!

Fort McAllister is gnat country in any warm and non breezy time of the year. Best bet is at Hardeeville RV park in warm months. All southern coastal areas are prime flying teeth habitat so stay inland if you want to keep your composure.

+1 for Hardeeville RV

Great park. Also a P/A park.
