thanks for the tip....i always check it out....and have for this trip.
unfortunately, and i hope i don't offend anyone, it appears like every park
is row upon row of park homes and rv's with little buffer between units.
i understand this is the desert and all that. was just hoping someone could turn me on to a park that had some space and character. again..i hope i didn't offend..arizona is a great place...just looking for something a little out of the ordinary.

The Maricopa county parks are really nice and in the desert, but they may not be within your 30 minute time space depending on where in Scottsdale you will be heading. Two full hook up parks in the east valley are Mcdowell Mountain park, and Usery Pass park. No reservations and a 2 week maximum stay.
