Sedona, AZ in late March

I plan to be in Arizona in late March of 2017. Have heard great things about Sedona and Oak Creek Canyon. What type of weather should we expect? Plan on taking some easy hikes. Recommendations for a campground with good views.

The end of March would be perfect for hiking and there are many easier trails to do.

We like to stay nearby at Dead Horse Ranch State Park in Cottonwood. Nice views and a lovely park. At night you can see of lights up the mountain in Jerome. It's also more reasonable than a Sedona park would be. It's a pleasant drive - perhaps 20 minutes or so.

For breakfast in Sedona try the Coffee Pot restaurant (not open for dinners). It has a wide menu and a casual place with excellent food. It's on the west side of the highway.

Here are the historical averages of temps:

Sedona is great and lots of Southwestern art and jewelry to take in but we probably like the town of Cottonwood far more. Very quaint and just a cool, little old downtown with lots of shops, antiques, etc. Great place to eat is Nic's and Bocce for artisan pizza. The best! Lots of wineries in town and the drive from there to Sedona is nice and there's a nice little winery, Page Springs on the way. Great picnic spot and they have some nice tapas. Don't miss Jerome! Deadhorse is our absolute favorite place to stay. Great state park. Stay on the upper loop for beautiful views in spots 61, 62 or 63.

I second Nicks in Cottonwood. Amazing restaurant. Beats anything in Sedona
