Seeking Alabama / pan handle RV park suggestions

Howdy,

Thinking of exploring gulf coast in Alabama or pan handle next year. Will have 3 daughters, DW, and 2 dogs in tow. Appreciate all input!

Thanks!

Rob

Alabama Gulf State Park
Alabama State Parks

May be tight for a 43 footer but our 40 ft was no problem. 5 minutes from a nice beach.

Santa Rosa Sound RV park
St Rosa RV Resort in Navarre Near Destin and Pensacola Florida
A bit expensive but right on Santa Rosa Sound and close to the beaches.

Check out Lake Osprey RV Resort, just outside of Foley. AL on the Alabama Gulf Coast. A first class resort with great amenities.

Yep, Foley has a couple great resorts, Bella Terra being another one. You may also want to look into Gulf Shores State Park. One of the best State parks we've ever stayed at. Santa Rosa is also nice, but as mentioned a little pricey, but then again so is Bella Terra, and Lake Osprey, but they're beautiful.

We stayed at Destin West Resort last year and are returning next week. Really nice facility and not that costly with monthly rates that save a bunch. Comparable to state parks with those rates. The Alabama state parks are great.

Dead flat concrete pads, easy access, expansive parking with lots of room between units, several lakes, beautifully kept, great clubhouse. Several miles south on CR95 is one the most impressive marinas you'll see..in case you like boats and water. The park adjoins Soldier Creek golf course, in case you like that. Easy access to SR98, which can take you to the USNavy Museum in Pensacola; a great time for kids and adults. Easy access to Orange Beach and Gulf Shores, too.

Groupon has 2for1 offers fairly regularly with Lake Osprey, which would make a 4-night stay about $100. Worth every penny and then some.

X3 on Lake Osprey. We've been here since the last week of October, nothing but a positive experience so far.

Lanny, does George Barber have his hands in the Lake Osprey complex? He's a dairy and real-estate tycoon that spends (some of) his money on nothing but first-class operations (Barber Marina, Barber Motorsports F1 track in Birmingham, etc.)

There are boucoup CGs along the Florida Gulf Coast. RVParkReviews is your friend.

Being an Alabama native, I tend to gravitate toward the Redneck Rivera of Gulf Shores/Orange Beach. As others have mentioned, Gulf State Park is one of our more well-appointed state parks. Another Big Rig Only Park is Heritage Motorcoach Resort & Marina. For either location... Take your boat! GSP has its own boat ramp on its own lake(s) and Heritage has mooring right on Bayou St. John with easy access to marinas/fuel docks along the way!

Groupon just announced another deal for Lake Osprey. 2 or 4 night stays and 180 days to use the coupons, which are better than 50% off.

I don't think so, I believe Roberts Resorts owns this operation.

Gulf Shores State Park is very nice and very affordable. Bella Terra is also very nice but pricey as is Lake Osprey.
