Short Poll Regarding Rv Park Websites
I am doing a study to determine the importance to RVers of RV Park websites.
We are starting with a very simple poll and would really appreciate as many results as possible.
Results will be published in this Forum

Some are very outdated, others have "dead" links. If they do have a photo section it might be of just people at a campground event. I would like to see an over-view of what the sites look like, office area, pool area, check in area and so forth.

I agree with Superslif. I don't care what some previous party looked like or what the office / "store" looks like. I want to see what the sites and hook ups look like. I have found that the parks that show their flowers, don't want you to see their 10' wide mud hole sites and bent over pedestals.

I think RV websites are mainly useful for giving me some general info and their contact phone #s. I use RV Park Reviews and the opinions of people on this forum to decide what the park is really like.

I use reviews as a source to narrow down my choices. Then I will look at the website for final decision. As stated so eloquently above, pictures of flowers and people frolicking means I look elsewhere. I always assume they are hiding the true condition of their park. I have proven that to myself more than once by having to be less selective due to geographical requirements narrowing down the candidate pool.
In one of those at the moment, NO pictures of the sites but wanted to be in a certain area of Boise. Sites and roads are so narrow not sure I can even get out of here. Certainly not with the TOAD attached

Google maps and park reviews are more important. What is a real frustration is sites that are hard to pry the cost out of and hide that their WiFi is only in the rec room.

We look to the park's website for information on park layout, site sizes, pet rules, rates, amenities, photos of the roads and sites, wifi availability, cable or TV options. From information on the park website, we may decide to stay a month, or a week, or overnight, or not at all. Many times, park reviews on 3rd party sites have limited information, or are not current. So, the park website info is very important when we plan our trips.

As new RV'ers, in this tech savvy world, the websites are our 1st impression and very important.
It's not the end all, but the reviews & other sources best be great to make up for it.
We have been researching for months and I see no end in sight yet.
If they don't care enough to put up a thorough decent website, they may run their park/resort in the same manner?
Decent meaning all info like wifi, showers, pool, etc....
It doesn't automatically mean a never visit, but won't be in the running with the majority of their competitors.
Definitely agree that a park map & rates get more of a chance too.
There are just so many RV Parks out there that if they don't give the information we want, it's much simpler to just move on to another website.

A poor site does not kill the visit but does injure it. Definitely agree that a park map & rates get more of a chance too. Don't want to call just to get the rates or see what is available.
We review RV Park Reviews and Google Earth to see what is there and sometimes how crowded it is.

IMO a nice looking RV park website only proves that an RV park knows, (or had enough money to hire), someone who makes nice looking websites.
