Shrimp Fest @ Gulf Shores, AL

Just wondering if anyone has ever been. It's been on my "bucket list" for quite a few years and now that we're retired we would like to go. Not sure if I want to haul the camper down or just drive the car and try and find a room. The wife and I don't get around like we used to so a lot of walking is out of the question anymore.

Bring the camper and stay awhile. The shrimp Festival is nice, but Oct is really a great time of year down here. Great weather, not a lot of traffic and you can get in restaurants. The Naval Air Station is close by with a great museum and the Blue Angels practice. Mobile is close by also with lots of history.

Definitely bring your camper. Gulf Shores State park is probably the nicest State Park we've ever stayed at.

The festival is very compact and shouldn't be a problem for walking and depending on timing you can luck out on a close parking place.
