Silent Valley Club Info ???

I am looking for information on Silent Valley Club membership.
I am interested in finding out what the initial cost of membership is currently going for without going to their seminnar and having it pushed on me. Also what are the current maintence fees, I presume yearly. I do own a timeshare with RCI and am leary as to rate increases. Any info would be much appreciated.

I have been offered one for free also. That is why I am trying to get some info. Mostly looking for transfer fee which I am sure there is and annual maint. fees. Don't want to sound cheap but if the cost of transfer is 2k don't think I will take it.

Thanks for your help

Can you say Google? I found LOTS of problems, complaints about this place. One guy said they want $250 for a background and credit check and $995 to transfer the membership.

Transfer fees are tied to the type of membership and when purchased. The one I found had a transfer fee of $400 and a credit check of $125. We have not stayed there but did do a drive by to look it over. If you are not to queasy about the drive in, it looked like a really nice campground. Have not made up my mind if I want to drive my 42 ft motorhome and toad up that hill. Like any membership it is a good deal only if you use it.

What I am concerned with is the contract. It seems to be that you are tied to the maintance fees for life unless you can sell or will it. Is this true?? If so, do you have a brief discription. My Dentist said he would give me the membership that started over 30yrs ago with his father. Does that help? He said do some research and if I want it, it's mine. Sounds too good to be true. We are local to L A.

Thank you

I've been a Owner for 8-9 years. Basically it cost $600 a year for 120 days of full hook up Camping at no more 30 days at a time . The park offers a lot of amenities and lots of sites. Look around at all of them (parks) then there to see for yourself. I'm not exactly sure what that transfer/back ground check is right now. Driving up there though it seems scary it's not as many many big RV's do it daily. Driving down isn't hard either as its not so steep that you risk burning up your brakes and has places to pull over here and there to let traffic pass. My wife drives our Class A up and down. Is it a 5 star resort ? No.. But it's a decent place to get away and still be close to home. It's having having issues trying to make ends meet and they are cutting back and adjusting different things but hasn't/isn't America been doing the same ?
