Beautiful country with plenty to do, or relaxing if you just want to relax. We liked the Pigeon Forge/Gatlinburg and Cades Cove area.

I'll let others recommend the campgrounds. Eastern TN offers all kinds of activities. The Park, of course, offers hiking, fishing, wildlife, sight seeing, and all the other activities you would expect. Gatlinburg and Pigeon Forge offer a lot of tourist activities, some hokey and quaint, others pretty upscale, including a decent aquarium. Our grandkids especially enjoy the go cart tracks.

There are some great TVA lakes nearby with great fishing, either from shore or you can rent a boat or boat with guide. University of TN is in Knoxville if you want to see it. We especially enjoy the Lenoir City/Loudon area for shopping and restaurants. Oak Ridge is a couple hours away and is an area I find really interesting.

Did I mention that we really like this area of TN, and the people are great, also. Have a great trip.

We stay pigeon forge they have anything from ok campgrounds to resorts. I have stayed at riversedge alittle close to each other, creekside and KOA which there premium sites are alittle pricey my only advise is to make reservations especially in peak times.

Bear Cove. It is 1 mile from Dollywood and you do not have to get out on the main drag to get around.

We like Pine Mountain RV park in Pigeon Forge it is new and associated with the hotel across the street and you can use it's Lazy River pool and on "The Quiet Side" of the park we like Tremont Resort in Townsend. Here is a site I found that has a really good list of campgrounds in the area. Smoky Mountains RV Campgrounds: 30 campgrounds located in and around Gatlinburg

Dollywood and Splash Country are a favorite with our kids and grand kids!!
