Hi spectrum581,
From your profile, I see you are based in Illinois. From there you could go to the South East or South West part of the country. Do you have a preference?

There are plenty of places in the Southwest. Many in AZ near Phoenix/Mesa, Tucson or Yuma. Yuma is cheeper and near Quartzite which is another place in AZ to stay. Another places in AZ are near the river like Lake Havasue. In So Calif you can stay near Warner Springs or Borrago Springs. Palm Springs on the other hand is very expensive.

Hi spectrum581,
Thanks for the reply. Unfortunately, I can not help you with winter stays in the SW USA. My research shows the SW (except for CA) is less expensive than Florida. To stay in warm weather, you'll need to go as far south as you can. The same is true for Texas.

Call the Arizonian RV Resort in Gold Canyon AZ. It's out on the edge of Phoenix civilization but it's only a few minutes drive to all the Wal Marts and shopping centers you could ever want. It's adjacent to the desert, with nice walking trails. Sites are a bit bigger than usual, you actually have some elbow room. They have a clubhouse with activities. Prices were reasonable, last I knew.
