Snowbirding in Texas
Spent last year in Florida; want to give Texas a try this winter. Looking for a park with comfortable weather (low 80's and below), good Texas stuff to see and do within, say, 100 miles or so, and....most important...lots of activities to stay involved and not get bored. Price is not a big concern; I'd rather pay a bit more and have a rewarding winter season.
Suggestions are welcome!
Thanks,
Dave

Come to the RGV, you will no longer be a Snowbird but a Winter Texan. Great warm weather and lots to do RV parks are in great supply with activites. Birding, fishing, beaches, Mexico.

Although the weather may not be as warm as the Rio Grande Valley, don't overlook the Texas Hill Country.
Lots of RVers winter there as well. From Johnson City, for instance, one is close to Austin, San Antonio, Fredericksburg, Kerrville and other Hill Country towns where there are lots of activities.
The average climate in Johnson City is shown HERE.

Absolutely.
We spent last Nov. in Austin, Dec. in Corpus Christi & Jan. in Rockport. Then moved up to San Antonio in Feb. for the Rodeo and on to Kerrville. There is so much history to take in and lots to see and do. The food is great and the people are the best.
If you don't want to get caught up in the typical "SnowBird CC Activities" and want to do your own thing, this is the place to be. Best winter we have ever spent.

There are a lot of great RV parks in the RGV at a low cost compared to Florida. Plenty to do as well inside and outside the park. The amenities vary with the size and cost of the park. The wind sure blows at times down there is the only negative I can think of.

And don't forget to look into the Galveston County area. Easy access to many area items and inexpensive $400 or less a month FHU.
My personal suggestion is Green Caye in Dickinson, TX. Easy access to many places well within 100 miles.

We like "Winter Texans" as long as they bring along plenty of $$$ and leave lots in Texas.
