Received such great information regarding my earlier question about Pio Pico and Oakzanitia Springs Preserves in the San Diego area (thanks so much to Robb & Sue Steinheider, "robbstein"), wondering now about the other Thousand Trails locations in southern California . . .

How about-
Wilderness Lakes
Idyllwild
Rancho Oso
Soledad Canyon
Palm Springs

Thanks for your advice!

They are all great places to stay and each has there own things to do in the area. Wilderness Lake, don't let the name fool you, it has shopping center two miles away and Disneyland down the Interstate. Palm Springs right in the center of Palm Springs activity (golf). Rancho Oso is out in the forest with horse riding but still short drive to Santa Barbara. Idyllwide is in the mountain just up from Wilderness Lakes which get you out of the heat and next to the little town of Idyllwild (go before it gets too cold). If you go to Soledad you also have to go up I-15 to the Las Vegas Thousand Trails and we all know what we can do and see in Vegas.

I am assuming you are a TTN member. We have the TTN membership where we can stay 2 weeks in each park and we make the two week stay at each park run starting at San Diego and work up going to each park ending it at the Las Vegas park. Then heading out of the area going east, we stop at the Verde Valley park in Arizona near Sedona to see the red rocks mountains.
