South Carolina flooding

We plan to start heading south for the winter next weekend and have reservations in Murrells Inlet, Charleston and Savannah (OK Savannah is in Georgia ) Anyone camping down that way who can give us an update on the roads and any flooding. Watching the news it looks like they are bracing for the recent rain water to run down from the higher country.

We do plan to start calling the CGs toward the end of the week to see if they are open and OK.

We arrived in Myrtle Beach yesterday from Winston-salem with no problems. We're in Ocean Lakes CG and it is packed!

This is good news! Thanks. Lots of gloom and doom on the news making us nervous.

Check this site before leaving. The "gloom and doom" is south of Florence. They have started evaluation of I-95 bridges that are currently closed, and depending on what they find, it could be awhile.

Thanks. I think DW has been keeping an eye on that link. I think our route will get us off 95 before the problems then we will be on 17 until after them. Does that sound correct.

Will be calling the CGs during the week to check on local problems and watching the news. Would hate to miss these stops but if it's not safe then we will have to change plans.

Called the CG this afternoon and they said everything is good, we never closed and the local roads are good.

SC DOT now says I95 is open in both directions. http://info.scdot.org/PressRelease/L...t.aspx?ID=2102

Unfortunately I'm going to find out. We're having a home built near Myrtle Beach, and DW wants to stay near to oversee the construction. I'm not crazy about it, but I do what I'm told.

Yes it does get cold here in sc but stays a little warmer by the coast. It does snow from time to time and freezes, but the times are few and the duration short.

We arrived on Oct 12. I noticed a number of American Coaches in the HH and H sections. Were you folks having a rally?

Place is not full now but will be by weekend. We wanted to stay thru Friday, Oct. 24 but they tell us they are all booked and have nothing that would fit our coach.

Yes they did rally, but not official, and they were planning for a major American rally in the spring
