South Texas over New Years

We are talking about taking a few days and spending it in far south Texas over New Years. Yes there will be lots of snowbirds there, but we are only looking for staying 7-10 days. We have never been there with our RV, so are looking for places to stay. Any campground ideas from past experiences?

FYI We don't have Snowbirds in the RGV, but the're lot of Winter Texans.
Come join us!
There are many RV parks available, along the I2 (US83) corridor. ~65 miles.

We live in an owned park on the far west end. There are rentals in the park. Short term rentals are harder to fine there.
Leisure Valley Ranch – Intended to be a +55 Park

Good Luck in your search.
