Southern CA. Looking for high class place to winter
Hi everyone,
We are fairly new to RVing and have a new 2014 fifth wheel. We are from Utah and are looking for a premium place to RV for the winter Jan. Through March-ish. By premium, I mean well maintained, grassy, fitness facilities, pool would be nice. My husband golfs so this may be a nice option too. We love San Diego and have vacationed on Coronado for years but have never looked into RV places. Suggestions would be appreciated.
Thanks,
Alice Jackson

If you're familiar with Coronado, I'm from Imperial Beach, check out Chula Vista RV Resort. We spent Nov.& Dec. of 2012 there and really liked it. A very good fitness center, pool, and biking. Another is Bernardo Shores in Imperial Beach, not what I would consider a resort, but because it used to be a mobilehome park, the sites are huge. No fitness center, but it's right on the bike path to The Strand and Coronado. If you decide on Chula Vista ask how to get to La Bella Pizza in Chula. The best....I guarantee..pizza you've ever had. I was going there as far back as the late 50's.

Chula Vista Resort is very nice. We prefer Bernardo Shores, but it does not have the amenities you desire.

Not everything you're looking for, but this - Santee Lakes is my favorite park in the area, and since we have family in the area, we have tried them all.
We were going to winter there this year, but had an unavoidable change of plans come up.

You might also look into the Palm Springs area. Sorry, no recommendation on parks, just areas.

Two words, Palm Springs. There are several places to choose from. I think there is even a golf course or two down there.

Palm Springs, Indio area, Borrego Springs, both have golf. If eating out a lot then Indio area. Both have so many days trips to parks and trails, farmers markets for home grown fresh produce and lots of cutesy shops and things to do. Plus if you find not to your liking a quick hookup and your Two hours to other great adventures.
