Please be more specific on where you want to be in Southern California.

You are talking about hundreds of miles of coast. Also what are you looking to pay. Nothing is very cheap out here. There are many options.

I don't know of any on the beach with full hookups. In Newport Bay (back bay) is Newport Dunes RV Park. In San Diego there is Campland on the Bay at Mission Bay. Both are pretty nice, if your thing is parking on concrete right next to another RV.
In my opinion, far better choices are the California State Park campgrounds. Right on the beach, maybe electric hookups, depending on the park/space. More "camping" than "kamping" if you get my drift... Lot's of tenters, surfers, kids. Really fun places to go. Far better in my opinion than the commercial places.

For full service you have Golden Shores in Downtown Long Beach and Newport Dunes.

Then for right on beach you have Bolsa Chica State Park and the downtown Huntington Beach.

Here is a good site with some details on Huntington Beach places.

Huntington Beach RV Parks - Southern California Beach Camping

Check out San Clemente State Beach.

You can evaluate all these on campgroundreviews.com and search for reservations.

Good luck.

If you like the San Diego area try Campland on the bay. It is right on the water across Mission bay from Sea World. There is lots to see and do , and the facility is well kept. Good Luck

I live in San Diego and recommend chula vista rv resort. I personally do not like any of the other recommendations. It is on the bay and usually quite. A lot of kids on holiday weekends.

Quite alot of state parks all the way up the coast. Most very busy in the summer months. For parks with hookups lookup "Camp California" All of them are in our association.

We stayed at the Malibu RV Resort mentioned above last April. Right across PCH from the waves, walking distance to good restaurant.

Pull through sites are tight (no room for awning) but back in sites up the hill seemed larger.

We stayed @ Newport Dunes in Newport Beach, CA for 10 weeks several years ago. It was a lovely park. It's located right in the back bay and many spots (premium price) are on the water. They are set up for big rigs. There are nice trails to walk, propane delivery to your site, a very nice laundry room and other amenties. Great location for Southern California.

Doheney State Beach in Dana Point is terrific (also right on the beach) but it is very hard to get in without reservations. However, they do have a large day use section but you cannot stay overnight in that area. If you stayed at Newport Dunes you could have a change of pace and go to Doheney for the day. The day use is right on the beach and they have firepits. It's lovely. We spent many a day there and enjoyed it so much. We lived in Southern California for many, many years.
