Spencer's Island Nova Scotia

All

We camp every couple of years in Nova Scotia (always up to this point at the Glooscap Campground at Parrsboro). I would like to try out Spencer's Island, we have been there in our truck and have seen the amazing (on the beach) camping. My concerns (really the wife's) are:

1. During high tide and stormy weather is it safe?
2. We have a 34 foot 5th - what about access - do you have to back in or out - as it seems the road is very narrow?
3. Should we consider renting two (2) side by side sites (for extra elbow room) as they seem quite close?
4. Reviews as very good on RV Park Reviews - Trusted Reviews of Campgrounds & RV Parks ....... but limited info.
5. Any further thoughts or observations.

THNX

Old Shipyard Campground (Spencer's Island)

Last summer we spent 1 month on Spencer's Island (Old Shipyard Campground). I have a 38' and towed my old jeep, sites are back-in so you can see the beautiful views. We loved the campsite and enjoyed the flounder the locals gave us after their daily fishing trips on the bay. The tides are amazing and don't forget to raft the tides .
The owners were great people, sites are safe, enough room for us on 1 site with jeep parked in front of MH.

One thing that sticks with me is that it's breezy all the time.

Here is a photo of the shoreline, water will come up to the boulders at high tide.

Fire rings at the waters edge for every site.

thanks for the 1st hand report

this is exactly what I was looking for - thank you for the report. If you haven't already post your review on......

RV Park Reviews - Trusted Reviews of Campgrounds & RV Parks

It is 1st hand (I was there) views that help us all GO or STAY AWAY to/from otherwise unknown parks. Especially this one thats appears very unique (and small) that it's difficult to get a independent review - again thanks- we will stay there next year.

Planning a trip up there next June. Sounds like a little gem that we will have to check out.
