I have stayed many times at the Lucy Park at the west end of the city. Never an issue. The last time we were there it just didn't seem quite the same - something a bit off. After staying there since 1996, we decided to stay elsewhere that time.

Several years ago, we were in Colorado Springs and taken the cog RR up Pikes Peak and pulled over at a nice park near there to have lunch in the coach. We were eating lunch and I saw a group of five young bucks walk out of a nearby wooded area and heading our way. Door was locked and I was hoping they would keep going but shortly I heard a knock on the door. Opened the small window and one of them says, "we ain't never seed one of these before. Cans we come in and take a look?" Since we were out numbered and unarmed and this was pre-cell phone, I told them we were eating lunch right then but come back in about 30 minutes and I would give them the tour. They said OK and headed back towards the woods, I started up and left immediately.

Scared the heck out of me. That was the last RV trip I took without carrying protection!
