I've stayed at the KOA in St Augustine. Decent park, but not cheap as I recall.

Hi acerv47,
Just off of I95 north of Jacksonville is Pecan Park. Check them out at Jacksonville Florida RV Park | Pecan Park RV Resort

For St. Augustine consider Stage Coach RV Park. Check them out at Home Just off I95. There is a CW store at the same exit. It is a straight shot into St. Augustine from Stage Coach.

How about Talbot Island just a little north of Jax or Ft. Clinch just a little further North. Anastacia in St. Augustine. Both are beach parks, state parks and $24 per night. Need to reserve now as they fill up in the summer, could be already too late.

Enjoy and Good Luck

Bill

Talbot Island has 2, 30' sites. Everything else is 25 or less. Fort Clinch will be packed unless he can catch a cancelation, doubtful. I would stick with Pecan Park or Flamingo Lake which is Passport America. I hated the KOA is St Augustine. Would rather have stayed at Stagecoach.

...and that ain't saying much. Sure wish there were better choices.

There is a luxury complex being planned behind the CW in St Augustine...too rich for me...and maybe an upscale RV park at the recently acquired Trout Creek Marina on the east bank of the St Johns river, if Mr. Ringhaver sees the light and spends the money. Otherwise it is North Beach, Flamingo Lake or Hanna City Park for us this year. We stay in the area to visit family every time we pass thru to south Florida.

IMO, Stagecoach is nothing more than a muddy parking lot with nothing to do. Convenient is an adequate description.

We stay at Anastasia SP in St. Augustine. Beautiful CG and the beaches are pristine. We will be there in July as well. That's the only place we choose to stay. We have heard North Beach CG is very nice as well. IMO, Bryn Mahr is nice, but we do not pay over $100/ night for a campsite....like I said that is just us. We are frequent visitors of St.Augustine and Anastasia is our preferred place. I will say certain sites can be tricky to get into but it can be done. They offer water and electric.

We live in Jacksonville and one of our favorite get-a-way places to go is Flamingo Lake campground on I-295. It's clean and well maintained with a nice fresh water lake. Another place to go is the city park Hannah park in Mayport, Fl. North Beach is nice but a little pricey.
