St Augustine/PV Area CG

Any suggestions for a CG near St Augustine /PV area? We will be there for about a week in a 30' MH.

We like North Beach RV.... just outside of St. Augustine... nice sites, separated by native vegetation so you really don't see the person next to you. At one end of the CG is the intercostal and at the other ( across the road) is the ocean. A couple good restaurants right there and just a few miles to the historic district. The interior roads are shell/sand as are the sites... that is the only downside, if you like concrete .

I stayed in Flagler at a more or less a fishing campground and they have a state park.

Our last visit to that area we stayed at North Beach. Other than the heavy infestation of sand burrs (I must have pulled three dozen off each dog until we learned where to avoid) down by the river, we liked it and the location very much.

Stagecoach is your best bet. We've stayed there many times. North Beach if you want across the road from the ocean and a pool...but you will pay more. Hanna City Park in Jacksonville is within walking distance of the ocean...very wooded. They are all in the dirt. Forget all the St. Augustine Beach park model parks masquerading as RV parks...or the KOA.

No perceived value for the money. Either across the highway, or ridiculously tight spaces. I mean...if you don't mind being crammed in with all the permanents. KOA is a ripoff.

While it's not cheap, we like Bryn Mwar on the south side of St. Augustine. We only stay in the ocean-front sites.

They're huge sites compared to the rest and all have raised gazebos offering a direct view of the ocean over the dunes.

Nice people, freshly renovated pool and washrooms.

Pellicer Creek Campground is a nice local campground that is just south of St. Augustine on US1. The campground is new and has been completely landscaped and looks 5 times as nice than the photos on the website.

There are several state parks you can stay in that are reasonable in price but may be booked on such short notice. Anastasia State Park, Faver Dykes State Park. Ocean Grove and Bryn Mawr are private parks on St. Augustine Beach.

I have lived and worked in St.Augustine my whole life so if I can help you in anyway let me know.

Glenn
