St Louis downtown
We will be taking the fifth wheel to St Louis next week. Looking to take the kids to the Arch , city museum, and the St Louis Fair downtown on the 4th for concerts and fireworks. Concerned about parking and maneuvering about with the dually.
Has anyone ever taken a big truck downtown? We are camping west of the city, is there maybe a train or something we can take downtown?

There is actually a campground in downtown St. Louis, although I can't remember the name of it, and have never been there. You might want to do a search if you are interested. STL. also has the Metrolink, which provides train service from the IL side of the river to pretty far west in STL. Lots of stations to choose from for boarding, depending on where you want to go and what you want to do/see. Lots of things to do there from Cardinal baseball, to the world famous STL zoo, The Arch, STL Science Center, the brewery, Grants Farm ( home of the famous Clydesdales), .......it's almost endless.

Light rail
St Louis has a light rail that runs all the way from the airport, through downtown and over to the IL side of the river. It is cheap and easy to figure out. It makes stops at Union Station as well as most of the attractions you mentioned.

If you are leaving the trailer at the campsite, no worries driving just a large pickup around town. Some people do it everyday. Parking may be an issue, regardless of your vehicle of choice for the big events.
Where are you camping?

Parking anything in downtown can be an issue for Fair STL. Sometimes they have well over a million people down there for the festivities. If all you are interested in is the fireworks part of it, they can be seen quite well from the IL side of the river around the Casino Queen, and you can take the Metrolink to the Casino parking area. DO NOT VENTURE away from the parking area though. East St. Louis is a very bad area away from the Casino complex.

We are staying at the Pin Oak Creek RV Resort which is west of the city. We were hoping to spend the day at fair st louis checking out bands and such.
