St louis north along Mississippi

Making our yearly summer trip to visit the daughter near St louis. TN (the navigator) would like to go farther north along the Mississippi past Duluth up to the boarder.

Looking for suggestions of personal experiences on places to stay and what we should see while in that location. Roads to stay off or good ones to drive on. We have two months before needing to return.

I am doing the normal research on the internet of POI's, personal input from those that have been there and done that is most useful

Your planned route can be along the great river road. A wonderful drive: The Great River Road | ROAD TRIP USA

If you get to Duluth, there is an RV park right in the harbor: Lakehead Boat Basin. They don't have a website, but are listed in the RV campground guides.
