One of the criteria that my DW has when we travel into a new State is to visit the State Capitol Buildings. We have 3 states that we have never been to and intend to remedy that this summer. There are also states we have visited that we did not get to the capitol bldgs.
My question today is asking for reccomendations for two additional things in each of these States we should not miss when we visit the state of Conn, RI, Vermont, and NH.
Looking forward to your lists!

Here's a good start. http://nhstateparks.org/explore/stat...FQyc7QodIkNY5A .

We have been to about 12 State Capitals. They are really neat to visit.

Some great possibilities in each state. My suggestions would be:

CT: Mystic, Mystic Seaport
RI: Newport and the Newport mansions.
NH: The White Mountains and surrounding area
VT: Having lived there, the whole state is beautiful, but if you have time, I suggest the Lake Champlain Islands - Grand Isle, North and South Hero.

Did you know that Montpelier VT is the smallest capital city in the U.S.

I can give some suggestions for campgrounds if you like.

Some suggestions:

CT: Not a lot in the Mystic area. Mystic KOA | Camping in Connecticut | KOA Campgrounds

NH: Lots of choices in the White Mountains. New Hampshire Campgrounds ? White Mountains Region, NH

RI: Tough to get reservations, but the best in the area: RI Parks

VT: In the South: Brattleboro KOA is great: Brattleboro North KOA | Camping in Vermont | KOA Campgrounds
In the north: Apple Island: Apple Island Resort | South Hero, Vermont | Life Made Sweet

Enjoy your trip - you are going to/through some great areas.

In Newport, RI, take time to visit as many of the "summer cottages" as you can. For sure don't miss "The Breakers" and "Marble House".
In Vermont we enjoyed a trip to and an meal in Woodstock. Probably was Bently's where we ate, but that's been a long time ago so I can't say for sure. If you're into that sort of thing, Woodstock's not far from Plymouth Notch, Calvin Coolidge's birthplace, boyhood home and where he was sworn in as President. Don't expect a lot of excitement there.
If you get up near Shelburne, VT, take in Shelburne Farms. It was built by a sister (and her husband) to the Vanderbilt brothers that built the The Breakers and Marble House in Newport. You can stock up on cheese there.
