We're on the road headed North from FL with 3 big dogs so State Parks work well for us. Does anyone have a SP recommendation close to Columbia SC?

Can't vouch for it myself, but this link RV Park Reviews :: Columbia, South Carolina ( SC ) - RV Parks and Campground Reviews suggests that Sesquicentennial State Park might be what you're looking for.

The best state park in the area is Lake Wateree State Park north of Columbia off I-77. Very large asphalt campsites, pull throughs, camp store. "Sesqui" is closer to Columbia (Not far off of I-20) but not as nice in regards to campsites. I've stayed at both and much prefer Wateree. Go here: About This Park - Lake Wateree State Park - South Carolina State Parks

Great, thanks! Just reserved a site at Wateree. We'll stay a couple nights then head to West Virginia for some real mountains
