State Parks in Pa. Promised land state park

We live in the Pocono region of Pa. We travel every summer at least 3000 miles mostly out of state. This year we went to Brandson Missouri and enjoyed it. We come home and then we go to our favorite State parks in Pa. One of our favorite and it happens to be 30 min away is Promised Land state park and its a real treasure. During the week in the summer you can always find a spot. There are 3 campground loctions, one on the main lake with full hookups but we like the lower lake sites. Its electric only so we fill our tanks as we register which for us is never a issue as a lot of state parks go that way. But its so nice. nice hiking trails, you can swim, fish or just feel private. We have really moved to state parks as our 1st choice over private. We have been trying to hit all the Pa state parks and their are many. We have yet to be let down by any of them. Last week we went to Lenoard Harrison a must see site ( at the Grand Canyon of Pa) small but so nice. You as all state parks have to prebook sites on line but to us its well worth is and they average 25 per night and you get so much for that besides a site.

PA has some very nice state parks. I haven't gotten to that one yet but hope to some day. I believe there is a nice long distance loop hiking trail in or near that park.

Pa. has an initiative to start upgrading a lot of the state park campgrounds to have full hookups. Hickory Run is supposed to be next.
