Stay 1 night in Bend Oregon
I am passing by Bend Oregon on Saturday afternoon with my 5th wheel and if by chance the Elks lodge is full, I will need to park in a place for just that night. Any recommendations other than Walmart as I am concerned about security ?
Thanks

Scandia Rv and Mobile Park is right in town and is a nice stop. Or you could head north to Redmond stay at Deschutes County Fair & Expo RV Park , good spot for easy in and out.

Just stayed at the Fair and Expo place. Nothing fancy. Easy in and out and close to the freeway. We were soooooooo tired we didn't care!

you did not say which was you are traveling...if north on 97 there is Collier State Park in Chiloquin, OR and La Pine State Park in La Pine , OR. Collier is 100 south of Bend right off highway and full hook-ups. Not much north of Redmond on the highway. I agree 525 is too many miles in one day.

Im coming up 97 from the Bay Area and Bend was going to be my max milage being the elks lodge was my 1st choice. South of Bend by 50 miles would be good but Im going to La Grande so trying to get as many miles on the 1st day while I am somewhat fresh. Maybe I should adjust my thinking of 500 miles + in one day.

Crown Villa RV Resort. $30 a night and they have overnight spaces. Nicest RV park we've ever seen. Everything was simply immaculate. It's on the south end of town, off the freeway but very easy access.

La Pine State Park in about 30 south of Bend and 5 mi west. There is a large RV park in La Pine.
If you can boondock it a really good choice is Klamoya Casino just south of Chiloquin on 97. Big parking lot, RV welcome. about 25 north of Kalamath Falls, OR at "Crater Lake Junction" (7mi south of Chiloquin) on the highway! use Casino parking. Not, truck stop parking next door. Easy in and out.

That is great idea. They have no issue with RV parking?

We were gonna stay at La Pine, but my wife read the reviews. It was too far off the highway, and several folks said the road in was really rough and bumpy. I think this is the one we're talking about. My memory sux!

They encourage it! You might buy a meal or pull a handle. Good fuel in the truck stop next door that the tribe also owns. You will see several RVs in the lot next to the highway...frequently Canadian snowbirds headed south. MY wife and I camphosted at the state park for many of years and ate frequently in the casino...senior nite Tuesday!!!

The Central Oregon US 97 corridor area is far more dangerous to simply drive through than to overnight in. Wherever you choose to stay over night will be much safer by far than even trying to pull out onto the highway. Set your fears aside and have a great trip.

5 miles and a good road in. She might be confused with Prineville State Park near Bend.
