Hey poorfarmer,
The campground is very nice, it is pricey, but there are not many, if any places in that area to stay! We were in the Trail F section each site had it's on little wooden deck with picnic table, gas grill and a fire pit! I think this would be a great section tobe in with kids of 8 & 11! Since it is where the pool, volley ball court, horse shoes and pavilion are! Even though it is still the off seasone they still had free coffee & doughnuts on Sat & Sun morrnings! Also if you buy your attraction ticket at the campground store(also located in Trail F) you get two days for the price of one!
Hope this info helps some! If you have any more questions feel free to ask!
