Stone Mtn. Ga.

We are planning on staying at Stone Mtn. Campground for 4 nights in May. It will be our first time there. Any suggestions for RV sites or ideas would be appreciated. We have a 27' class A. Thanks

Some nice camp sites near the water. Nice golfing nearby and if you are into Coney Island Hot dogs you got to do The Varsity" in Atlanta only about 35 min

Stayed there a lot I prefer the newer section or the loop a lot less trees, cable tv and the loop has gas grills and full hook up. They are alittle more but this time of year not bad. I would call for reservations not online I think they use a second party for online and it makes it easier to cancel.

Hi larryjeans,
2X on the newer loop. This loop is next to the registration office. If you want satellite TV, let them know this. Only one side of the loop has a clear view for satellite TV. They are a Passport America Park. Last time I was there, the first night was 50% of the regular rate.

Ah, the Varsity is just too far to go for red dye #2 hot dogs.

We used to go to the village of Stone Mountain and eat at The Post Office. Great buffet. Otherwise, you'd want to go out Hwy 78 to find decent restaurants.

Stone Mountain Park is about as beautiful of a place that you'll ever see. And it's especially incredible when the laser show is going Summer nights.

I've stayed there but don't remember the layout or space we stayed in but I do remember it is a Passport America park but you only get the discount for the first night - holiday weekends excluded. Stone Mountain Park Family Campground - Passport America Camping & RV Club

We stayed there when we visited the Georgia Aquarium. If you have time don't miss it. Georgia Aquarium | Dolphin Show | AT&T Dolphin Tales

I go every year for the last week of summer brake with the kids. we try to get the spots behind the gathering hall. it puts us next to the pool. the GA Aquareum is a must see get the tickets to the dolphin show as soon as you get in the door they only have a limited # of seats and they can go fast.

Exclamation Stone Mountain

Sorry to be the downer, we were there July 4th week 2014. The weather, fireworks, and golf were great. The campsite was poor. We were on the far loop, with several unlevel sites. This park is not on the wife's list of places we would like to return to. Value for price not so hot.

The loop by the office and pool is level and the sites are fairly large. We had no problem with our 37' MH and toad fitting on the pad.

You are correct the sites close to the golf coarse soom are rough and unlevel it's important to make reservations early to get a level full hook up sites.

yes some of the older sites closer to the golf coarse are jacked up.. there are also a few units that look to be long term tenants. I got put back there last time I was there.. punishment for not making my reservations far enough in advance.
