Stop Over

Going down to the Keys in July. leaving from Just North of Tampa. Route will be
I-75 S across allagator Alley. To 821 down to US 1 Want to overnight East side of Alley maybe just alittle south. Would appreciate any suggestions.

I have overnighted at the Casino at the intersection of US41 and 997.

We went last year from Tampa, that route. Stopped in Key Largo at Point of View RV resort couple of days, then went onto Key West. Worked out great.

Ditto on Point of View in Key Largo - site 29 - no one on drivers side and great view - we had not been to the Florida Keys in 10 years and this time preferred the upper keys to the Key West area because the upper keys have not changed in all those years but Key West has changed.

How long did it take to go from Tampa to Point of View RV resort. I was thinking of stopping before leaving the mainland. Going to check out Point of View. Thanks everyone.

We usually stay at Miami/Everglades RV Park just north of Homestead in Redlands area, but it's listed as Miami. Should be plenty of room there this time of year. Its nice and quiet with plenty of room.

Checked out Everglades. I think I will stop there. Good location before getting on to the Keys, looks like a nice park. Thanks.

I much prefer Tamiami Trail over to the casino not alligator Alley. It's 30 miles shorter and a slower nicer drive with many places to stop for lunch or admire the "old swamp" scenery.

Plus you can visit the swamp ape headquarters!

Leaving Key West next April and would like to stop near the Everglades, any ideas of a good RV park close to the Glades. Also any recommendations for the next stop after the Glades heading north back to South Jersey. I set a route south to Key West, I am now setting a route back home.

Flamingo campground at the end of the road in the park has about 65 electric sites. If you have the National Park pass the cost is $15/ day.

Mid-Way CG on US 41 or Collier-Seminole State Park are a couple of places we have stayed . Miami-Everglades CG is also a good place.

Larry & Penny Thompson RV Park. Its on the north end of Homestead just a few miles from the Keys Highway and close the Everglades entrance. It is a nice city or county park.
