Expect road construction on i90 it's inevitable. Also pushing hard through South Dakota is rather difficult with all the rally traffic. Closer u get to the black hills more bikes u have and yes you will have to really watch out for them. Also be careful in the hills curves kill many every year. People over drive cross over into your lane. Wife n I ride out for be 15 th year had many close calls. People with to much bike for them to handle customs etc.

How much of I-90 is a toll road and I am aware that my EZ pass does not work so what do I expect for travel out west?

Bill
I have not traveled east of South Dakota yet, so I am unfamiliar with toll roads...there are none in the Western USA with the exception of California, which I have heard is beginning to implement the dreaded toll road.

It reduced downshifting on small hills by about 70%. Mike Butler just sent me a custom tune to experiment with. Not sure yet, but it either greatly reduces downshifting even more or, locks OD out from downshifting at all, so when I want, I do it manually (which is what I asked for). Since we're way off topic, PM me for more info.

We are staying down in the Custer area at Custer Gulch. About an hour drive to Sturgis but we only want to visit the event a day or two and ride around the area the rest of the time and see the sights. Been to events like Daytona and a night or two with all of the houdlums is about all I can take. As far as the bike, it is a 2000 Heritage Softail. If I did it correct, here is a picture of me and y daughter parking at the Rolling Thunder event in DC.
