Ii know I am a little late but I travel a lot for work and I have just confirmed that I am going to be able to take time off to be able to go to the rally. I know that I am not going to be able to find RV Parks/Campgrounds close but would like to be with in a 30 min ride or so in to town. I have just started looking but haven't been able to get any one to answer or return calls I make or emails I send returned.
If anyone has any suggestions on where to call or email or where to try to get a site would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Many of the campgrounds are closed for the season. Most are full. I think Custer's Gulch in Custer may have some sites open.

Thank You for the help. Finally got a site booked today in Spearfish. Hopefully, maybe get to meet some of the fine people here on irv2 while I am in Sturgis.
I will be staying on this thread and checking it often.

Me too. Tried Chris CG for two days --- phone was off the hook so assumed CG was full.

Hello fellow bikers and RV'ers. Need a little help. I am a long attendee of Daytona bike week(25 times starting back in 1971) and Laconia (16 times including last year)but have never been to Sturgis. I want to change that this year. I have a class A Winnebago Adventurer and am taking the summer off to tour as many national parks as I can and want to be in the Sturgis area for bike fest. I need suggestions for a campground with full hook ups or at least water/electric 50A if possible within 30 or 40 minutes of Sturgis. any help is very appreciated..
Thanks
Ray

That's a great place! We drove past that several times a day when we stayed at Spearfish Canyon Lodge last year!.

Ray,
From what I can see, CGs are filling up fast. We are staying at Custer's Gulch in Custer- about an hour from Sturgis. Nice area that gives us access to great riding area .... Needles Highway, Iron Mountain, Custer State Park, Badlands, etc.... We ride to Sturgis during the day and will probably spend one night at Full Throttle ... so for us it is about the riding and seeing the events and vendors in downtown Sturgis.
I would start calling on Monday ... Let us know how you make out!

I know this is a bit off topic, but since I got some bike people paying attention, I'll take advantage of your knowledge...
Here is a trailer I'm looking to buy. My plan is to have a trailer condo for my friends while at Sturgis. I'm looking for input from anyone who trailers their bike in an enclosed trailer. I would say 98% of the time it will be just my bike, but occasionally I will want to bring a another couple with us and give them a "bedroom" of their own. I want a 12' trailer, but I've been told it wouldn't be big enough to haul two full dresser bikes. Will a 12' be big enough, or should I go bigger for that 3%-5% of the time I may bring friends?

I used to haul our 2 Harley's in a smaller trailer than that. When you set it up, it's probably going to help to stagger the location of the front wheel chocks so the handlebars aren't next to each other otherwise you may run into width issues.

12' would be OK for 2 dressers only! the problem you have with the one you are looking at is how wide is it? It needs to be 8' to 8.5 to fit Dressers side by side and then there would not be a hole lot of room for anything esle, wheels need to be flush with the outside walls. If you what to have storage areas you will need to go longer, if at some point you want to take 4 bikes you will need no shorter than 20'. Just my 3.5 cents.
