Hi
We are going back to Sugarloaf KOA for the third time this march break. We have a beach front site reserved. They were heavily damaged and were closed for a while after hurricane Wilma. The KOA web site indicates that everything is going again. But, I would like to hear or see pictures from someone who has been there to see what the state of the campground really is. We are driving 1800 miles each way to get there, so I don't want any disappointing surprises when we get there.
Any info is greatly appreciated.
Pete.

There is still cleanup going on all over the Keys. Piles of rubble and sand, downed palms, and beached boats still abound but they are working hard to clean it up. I was in the Keys the last two weeks in November.
I didn't go into the KOA campground, but I was told it was open and most amenities were working. Everybody at that point was still having WiFi and cable TV problems as the lines were still being restrung. There was some beach damage, etc. but they were working hard to get it cleaned up. From the road it looked to be okay. Hope this helps.

Thanks Dobbler
It sounds like the campground is recovering. I hope the people that live there are recovering too, let's not forget about them.
Thanks for the info.
Pete.

Just a note that 4 of the major campgrounds in the Keys have been sold to condo developers ... they include American Outdoors and the Fiesta Key KOA .... Sad, very sad
